Hey, sorry about the looooong time between posts. We were having technical difficulties.
Alright, the semester is winding down. Please remember to feed your bodies the best you can by caring about what you eat and where it comes from. During finals, it can be hard to find time to prepare a meal and sit down and enjoy it. We understand this. Just plllllease find a way to care for yourself as much as you care about your work. It matters!
Hello, we have plenty of goods coming up for rest of the month of October.
FILM
We will be viewing The Future of Food on Wednesday, Oct. 29th at 6:30pm in FPH 104.
REVERSE TRICK O’ TREATING
On Thursday– at 7pm–we will be hitting the pavement to deliver chocolates to Hampshire College. We will have multiple groups going out and visiting Hampshirites to talk about fair trade chocolate. We are doing this the day before Halloween.
HAMPSHIRE HALLOWEEN EAT-IN (POTLUCK)
This Friday at 12pm, Hampshire Slow Food will be hosting an autumn potluck to celebrate the season and its food. Come by Mod 10 (in Greenwich) to indulge in seasonal eats and great company. Tell you friends and spread the word. Use the season’s harvest to prepare a fantastic meal. You can even bring ingredients with you and prepare something “live” at Mod 10!!! Have the best lunch you have had this semester by attending this awesome event complete with goodies from Get Baked.
Please take note of all of these events and spread the word. If you have any questions about anything mentioned here (or not mentioned) please comment or email us at slowfoodhampshire@gmail.com!!!
Hello, last night we viewed (and enjoyed) Chocolat. Some individuals brought chocolate dishes:

Chocolate Pear Tart

FUDGE
And this is just the beginning of the film fest. Next up is Future of Food but more about that later.
Thank you to everyone that showed up and contributed dishes.
We ask that you keep an eye on intranet announcements about awesome events happening in MA and on campus.

Chocolate
This friday we will be viewing and enjoying the film Chocolat (2000). This is also another opportunity to make-what-you-can…with CHOCOLATE!!! There are some people out there that love chocolate. Perhaps you are one of them. Take some chocolate (most is not slow, sadly) and transform it into something delicatable. We believe in you!
LOCATION AND TIME: FPH 104 AT 6:00PM
SEE YOU THERE!
Hello everyone. As we enter fall break I would just like to keep you updated in regards to our schedule.
Our order of chocolates for Reverse Trick-or-Treating will be shipped to us soon. We will be providing the address for shipment and paying the shipping fee. Then we wait. We have decided that we will be doing RTT on the day before Halloween since on the night of the 31st Hampshire will be unavailable (to say the least).
We will be having our first film of the Hampshire Slow Food Film Fest on Thursday, October 16th upon our return to campus. We will be publicizing these event as much as we can while we are away. Also, we will be asking people to prepare a dish that does CHOCOLATE justice for the sake of the film Chocolat. More about this later.
We have gained enough funds (from 10 people) to give to Slow Food on Campus and SFUSA. We will be sending in all of our information before the break begins. Thank you to everyone who paid the $10 US. We greatly appreciate your commitment.
Lastly, while you are away, please keep Hampshire Slow Food in mind. Think of how you would like to contribute to our Hampshire Halloween event and the Farm Festival happening on November 7th. Consider what we can do as a group for the holiday of Thanksgiving.
Eat slow and be merry. ENJOY YOM KIPPER AND COLUMBUS DAY!!!!
Hello crew, we need your money. As a piece of Slow Food USA, Hampshire Slow Food has to have its members pay a $10 fee for membership. We ask that you bring your money to Mod 10 or drop it in Tannis’ mailbox [#405].
We need this money by Saturday at the latest.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Look for notices about our community dining experience happening Monday, Oct. 6th at 7pm in Mod 10.
Hello everyone, now that we have found our organizational base, we have some interesting events lined up.
Firstly, we will not be having weekly chat sessions any longer. The purpose of those three meetings was to see what the campus wanted to see and how we could make it happen.
On the other hand, Tam and I are opening our home every Monday at 7 pm to any who would like to come and eat dinner with us. This set up is incredibly casual. You can bring your own meal or a dish to share. Or if you really want to splurge, you can provide Tam and/or I with funds and we can prepare a meal for the group. The point of this is to promote community eating without putting too much pressure on the community. SLOW FOOD ONLY though. I feel I should let that be known.
Secondly, our first major and continuous event will be the Hampshire Slow Food Film Festival. This festival will convene five times during this semester, dates to be determined. Our first film will be Chocolat. We felt that this film will be a light, enjoyable romp about food’s influence and power. It will be followed up with more educational fare in weeks to come.
Lastly, we will be participating in Hampshire Halloween in October. How? That has not been set in stone but we are considering having an eat-in or simply providing food for the masses come Halloween.
Please keep all of these events in mind throughout your days and weeks.
For community eating with Tam and Tannis visit Mod 10 in Greenwich. Email us with any questions at slowfoodhampshire@gmail.com
Anyway, Hampshire Slow Food is meeting this Thursday in Dakin Living Room at 7:30pm to discuss our future. We attempted this last week but very few were in attendance. Please turn out to this, our last info meeting of the semester. Also, please prepare and bring a dish. Made of what? POTATOES! We are asking everyone that can to bring a dish that includes the potato in some way, shape or form. Any other type of dish will also be appreciated as Tam and I aren’t preparing a meal for the group.
Some issues we will discuss is the Slow Food on Campus group fee we have to pay and whether or not we want to participate in Hampshire Halloween (food perhaps?).
Please let us know if you cannot make it. We need lots of warm bodies at this meeting so that we know what you want to do. Use this “wordpress” and all of its information if you have any questions about the movement (or if your friends do).
TELL EVERYONE. MAKE SOME OF YOUR OWN POSTERS AND PUT THEM UP. ESPECIALLY IN THE
DORM AREA.

Hey Guys,
The first meeting went so well we decided to do another one. The theme of this one is Breakfast for Dinner (Slow Food style).
We’re planning on going over our plans for this semester. So if you have any ideas, now is the time to articulate them.
As always, bring your own plates, silverware, drinks and ideas.
Date: September 18, 2008
Location: Dakin Living Room
Time: 7:30 to 8:30
See you there.
